Sales Tax ExemptionUpdated 2 months ago

We strive to make our Sales Tax Exemption Program as simple and efficient as possible.

To apply for tax-exempt status, please complete our Sales Tax Exemption Form and submit the appropriate exemption certificate or resale certificate for the state where your order will be shipped. Resources such as TaxJar can help identify the form required by your state.

Apply and submit here: Trade Program / Tax Exemption

To ensure a smooth purchasing experience, please do not place your order until our Accounting Department has reviewed and approved your documentation. Approval typically takes 2–3 business days after submission.

Orders placed before tax-exempt status has been approved will be processed with applicable sales tax. Unfortunately, PorchToPatio LLC. cannot refund sales tax after an order has been processed. Any request for reimbursement must be submitted directly to your state's taxing authority.

Sales Tax Exemption Guidelines

To qualify for tax-exempt purchasing, the following requirements must be met:

  • A valid Tax Exemption Certificate or Resale Certificate must be submitted and approved by PorchToPatio LLC. before an order is placed.
  • Sales Tax Registration certificates, State Business Registrations, IRS FEIN confirmation letters, and Form W-9 documents cannot be accepted in place of a valid exemption certificate.
  • The exemption certificate must be valid for the state to which the order is being shipped.
  • If you ship orders to multiple states, a completed certificate may be required for each applicable state.
  • The name and address on the order must match the information provided on the exemption certificate.
  • Sales tax is determined based on the delivery destination and applicable state and local tax laws.

Sales Tax Policy

PorchToPatio LLC. is required to collect and remit sales tax in jurisdictions where sales tax collection obligations exist. Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping destination and applicable state and local tax regulations.
